Electronics, clothes, and other items we buy cause carbon emissions at each point in production, from the extraction of raw materials to manufacturing and transporting goods to market.

Producing new consumer goods often generates a lot of carbon pollution. Take a modern smartphone - around 85% of its entire carbon pollution comes from its manufacture, not from using it. Repairing one item won’t save the world but if it becomes a habit, it can quickly add up to make a difference.

To protect our climate, buy fewer things, shop second-hand, repair what you can, and recycle.
