The bags are here!

We are thrilled to announce Lil’s reusable 100% organic cotton bags have arrived. We absolutely love them.

These will be (kinda) FREE to use for most pantry orders. Each order that chooses to use cloth bags will attract a £2 deposit. When we receive the bags back, you get your £2 back.

But we REALLY love these bags, and hope you do too. So if you want to keep them, you’ve already paid the £2 cost price. As long as you use them and love them, not just leave them lurking in a drawer. Drawer lurkers will be haunted. (That last bit is probably not true.)

But I loved the paper bags?

We still have the strong, recycled paper bags available, for their cost price of 20p each. For some orders, this 20p bag has been more expensive in itself than the bag’s contents and more than Lil can afford to absorb regularly. So now, if you do love the paper bags, they’ll be just 20p extra so we can keep on doing our Lil thing. If you chose the paper bags for an allergy concern, please do get in touch with us hello@dolilthings.org.

I just want one bag?

Are you ordering several items to mix your own muesli? Want 3kg of pasta? No worries, let us know in the notes at checkout and we’ll refund you for any unused bags when we fill your order.

What about reusable containers?

We also loved reusable containers and in some instances we still feel these are the best choice. We think this works best for spices, hot chocolate, ground almond, mixed peel, and they will continue to be available for those items.

However, when we did reusable containers for everything, we were drowning in dishes: meaning more energy to wash the dishes, at a 70-degree temperature required; plus more fuel in transporting heavier orders. We think the cloth bags will help us close the loop in a more carbon-friendly way.

how do i return cloth bags?

Return your cloth bags via your delivery method: whether that’s with Phantassie or other veg partners, at a collection partner or post. Please turn the bags inside out to make sure it is properly empty of any residue. Then pop them in one outside bag, and make sure that bag is marked in pencil or with a tag, with your name, and ideally order number too. If you let us know you’ve dropped the bags off with collection partners, then we’ll get them back more speedily but it’s not required.

If you’ve bought the cloth bags at an event or pop up, then return via the address label or contact us hello@dolilthings.org. We will send you a code to receive £2 per bag off your next online order.
